Key Facts

Chapman Taylor to design and deliver the regeneration of Bracknell Town Centre

The scheme is part of a £240m masterplan development by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership that will accommodate 60,000m2 of new retail and leisure facilities on an existing site.

The wider vision is to remodel and improve the town centre, which includes creating a contemporary shopping experience for the local community and to bring popular retail names into the area. The existing shopping area is too small, and many of the individual shop units do not meet modern specifications and currently there is a lack of retail choice. The Borough Council’s aspiration is create culturally self-confident centre that is mature, vibrant and truly mixed-use, hosting a wide range of shopping and leisure activities which are accessible to all.

Chapman Taylor have been appointed to design and deliver the St Charles Square element of the project that includes a new anchor store and associated shopping units and public spaces. The redevelopment will involve the creation of contemporary retail units fronting the square,  with bars, cafés, and restaurants at ground floor to animate the space.

We are also delivery architects of the Northern Retail Quarter piece of the scheme that has been designed by BDP Architects and delivers six new blocks including the remodelling of an existing tower building.

The scheme is currently onsite and due for completion early 2017.
