Chapman Taylor has recently passed the wonderful milestone of having won over 300 significant industry awards for our projects.
Although we do not design our projects with awards in mind, we are honoured to have been recognised by the industry’s leading awards bodies for our work over the past six decades. None of these awards would have been possible without the creativity, innovation and collaborative effort of our international teams.
A major highlight for us was winning the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2009 in recognition of the outstanding success of our international trade. Chapman Taylor also won ‘Best Practice’ for our Altstadtquartier Büchel project in Aachen, Germany, at the 2018 Urban Design Awards and ‘Designer of the Year’ at the 2016 Global RLI Awards.
Our Mui Dinh Ecopark concept for Vietnam won the 2018 MIPIM Award for “Best Futura Mega Project” and our completed City Plaza Wuppertal project in Germany won “Best Retail City Centre Regeneration” at the 2019 MAPIC Awards. Mega Silk Way in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, won ‘Best International Retail Architecture’ at the 2019 International Property Awards and Shanghai Global Harbr won ‘Best International Retail Architecture in the World’ at the 2015 International Property Awards.
ICSC RECON VIVA Global ‘Best of the Best’ Award for design and innovation for Trinity Leeds shopping centre, UK
The Lexicon mixed-use scheme in Bracknell received two 2017 REVO Gold Awards, winning Gold in the Re:new category and ‘Best of the Best’ in the Re:turn category. Other major awards have included the 2015 ICSC VIVA Global ‘Best of the Best’ Award for Trinity Leeds shopping centre (one of many significant awards it won), the 2018 ICSC VIVA Global ‘Overall Retail (Small Format)’ Award for Riedel Wine Bar & Cellar in Bangkok, ‘Best International Retail and Leisure Destination’ for Mall of Qatar in Doha at the 2017 Global RLI Awards, and the 2018 REVO Gold ‘Re:New’ Award for Westgate Oxford (which also won a 2019 RIBA South Award).
Our landmark MediaCityUK Phase 2 development in Salford, Manchester, won ‘Planning Permission of the Year’ at the 2017 UK Planning Awards, while the BBC North office and studio complex within MediaCity UK won a 2016 BCO ‘Test of Time’ Award. We have also won major awards in relatively new formats for us, such as modular construction – our Holiday Inn Express project at Trafford City in Manchester won ‘Retail/Leisure Project of the Year’ at the 2018 Offsite Construction Awards.
