Chapman Taylor is crowned ‘Designer of the Year’ at prestigious RLI Awards 2016
Retail & Leisure International (RLI) is the World’s only Global Retail & Leisure magazine and the most authoritative voice on the worldwide retail and leisure sector.
Last night Chapman Taylor scooped up the award for retail and leisure ‘Designer of the Year’ at a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Natural History Museum, ahead of some tough competition from Benoy, CallisonRTKL, and Design International.
Key figures from across the retail world gathered at the annual event to celebrate the best and most innovative retail and leisure projects as well as best architectural and design projects from 2015 / 2016.
Chapman Taylor is designing a number of key projects across the globe from Global Harbor Changzhou (the biggest shopping centre to complete in China this year), Mall of Qatar (which will be Qatar's largest shopping centre), Mega Silkway (the biggest shopping centre in Kazakhstan and a centre piece of EXPO 2017), Global 100 (a major new Chinese theme park on Hainan Island) and Altstadtquartier Büchel (a International Urban Design Competition win to design the old quarter of the historic city of Aachen, Germany).
Recently, the practice was awarded ‘Best of the Best' Shopping Centre in the World for both Design and Innovation at the Global RECON ICSC Awards for our Trinity Leeds scheme in the UK.
