Brussels Airport Connector building takes shape
Construction work is progressing swiftly on the Connector building at Brussels Airport. Work started on site in April 2013 and the structure is nearing completion, with roof and façade installation in progress and technical equipment and finishes due to commence shortly.
The opening will be phased from April 2015 to September 2015.
Our Brussels and London offices won a design competition for the project, in conjunction with Buro Happold and Moss Engineers and Architects, in summer 2011. The challenge was to create an iconic building as the new gateway to Brussels, linking the two existing passenger terminals. The scheme will provide a brand new building to house the airport’s security screening and baggage reclaim facilities, as well as a new international departure lounge with a 10,000m2 retail, food and beverage offer.
