Bupa Place and ISG’s Manchester headquarters shortlisted for 2019 Regional BCO Awards
Chapman Taylor’s designs for Bupa Place and for ISG’s North-West headquarters office, both at MediaCityUK in Manchester, have been shortlisted for the 2019 BCO Regional Awards.
Bupa Place has been shortlisted in the ‘Corporate Workplace’ category, while the ISG project has been nominated in the ‘Fit-Out of Workplace’ category, both in the Northern section.
The BCO (British Council of Offices) Awards, which have been held annually since 1992, celebrate the best UK workplaces, providing public recognition for high-quality design and functionality. The Northern awards dinner takes place on 23 May, with the winners going on to feature at the national awards on 1 October.
Bupa Place is the new, BREEAM Excellent, regional office headquarters for leading private healthcare provider Bupa in Manchester. Occupying a prominent waterside location adjacent to MediaCityUK, the attractive building is the largest single-occupancy building in Manchester, providing over 13,700m² NIA of BCO Grade A office space over six floors.
Chapman Taylor was commissioned by Peel Land & Property to design a bespoke office building for Bupa. Initially appointed to design the Cat A fit-out, Chapman Taylor’s scope was increased by Contractor Morgan Sindall to include the delivery of ID:SR Sheppard Robson’s Cat B interior fit-out design. The whole scheme was designed using Chapman Taylor’s BIM technology, creating a fully collaborative design process from concept through to completion.
ISG, a world-leading global construction services company, took a lease at the BREEAM Excellent Tomorrow building at MediaCityUK after relocating its Manchester headquarters from Exchange Quay. Our design concept for the office space adopted an urban loft theme, using materials which evoke the northern waterways connecting Manchester and Liverpool to bring a sense of life and connection to the floor plate. The office was carefully designed to provide an efficient floorplan which would maximise integration of the design concept with the client’s vision and operational requirements.
Chapman Taylor provided the interior design scheme for ISG’s office, focusing on creating a modern, flexible and fun workspace which would be enjoyable to work in and would bring about more collaboration.
Congratulations to everyone involved with both projects for these well-deserved nominations.
