Chapman Taylor appointed as Lead Design consultant for the world's tallest religious building
Chapman Taylor has been appointed to provide Lead Design Consultancy services for the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir (VCM) temple in Vrindavan.
This ambitious project will feature the world's tallest religious building, the Central Shikhar, which will reach a height of 220 metres. The temple, dedicated to Lord Sri Krishna, will blend Indian temple architecture with modern design elements, drawing inspiration from the historic Sri Madanmohan Ji Mandir and Sri Radha Govind Ji Temple of Vrindavan.
The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir project, conceived by VCM's in-house design team, aims to represent the rich cultural heritage of the sacred Braj region. The temple complex will cover 67 acres and will have a built area of 2.5 million square feet.
Key features of the development include temple halls, a retail plaza, a cultural centre, an indoor theme park, 500 guest rooms for devotees, studio apartments, and parking facilities for over 3,000 vehicles.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the project targets an IGBC Gold Rating and will be constructed in phases, with completion expected within four years. This landmark development is set to become a significant cultural and architectural landmark, honouring the traditions of Vrindavan while embracing modernity.
