Chapman Taylor Bangkok welcomes the British Ambassador to The British Club
On Saturday 5th March, our Bangkok design team and representatives from The British Club welcomed Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, to The British Club in Bangkok.
Mr. Gooding officially opened the Club’s Phase 2 Poolside redevelopment project. Designed by Chapman Taylor, Phase 2 has introduced a feature cantilevered fitness suite, a restaurant, swimming pool, and a sun deck. The grounds have been redesigned and expanded with young families in mind.
The British Club is an expatriates' social club in Bangkok. It was founded as a British gentlemen's club in 1903, and established in its current location on Surawong Road in 1910.
Set in a prime location in the centre of Thailand's buzzing capital city, The British Club is an exclusive members-only club. A symbol of strong and long-standing relations between the United Kingdom and Thailand, Chapman Taylor's design, inspired by the Union flag, aims to help strengthen that function for many years to come.
Phase one, also designed by Chapman Taylor, included international-standard squash courts, a children’s pool, a playground, an outdoor pool bar and dining area, offices and other leisure amenities. Striking vertical green landscaping has been applied to the façades, helping to shade the development.
