Chapman Taylor completes ground floor redesign at ABC-Tower in Cologne
Chapman Taylor’s redesign of the ground floor of the ABC-Tower in Cologne is now complete.
In December 2018, the new owner of the ABC-Tower invited several well-known interior designers to present their ideas for enhancing the public areas of the high-rise building, with Chapman Taylor’s proposal for the ground floor subsequently chosen for implementation.
The jury was convinced by the clarity of the concept – particularly by how, with a few precisely focused interventions, various areas are optimally restructured, and by how the interior design quality has been taken to another level.
The objective of our redesign was to restore the balance between the interior and exterior with as few interventions as necessary. By optimising the mix of natural and artificial lighting and using natural materials such as wood, we have created a smooth transition between inside and outside.
The clean, contemporary and visually uncluttered ground floor space creates a fitting entrance experience for this striking Cologne building.
Chapman Taylor created the concept design, which was then taken forward from scheme design to working drawings stage by S-L Architekten.
