Chapman Taylor designing residential, retail and leisure district in Yunusabad, Tashkent
Chapman Taylor is designing a large-scale, mixed-use project for a former mining plant in Tashkent.
The development, located in the Uzbek capital’s Yunusabad district, will create a new residential area and a 70,000m2 shopping and entertainment venue.
The multi-level retail and leisure offer will include commercial terraces, bridges and an amphitheatre, with a 1,000-capacity food court and restaurant area, a rollerdrome, a 2,500m2 children’s playground, an art gallery, a gym and 1,000 parking spaces.
The residences, aimed at professionals working in the city, will come in a range of sizes and formats, with “Business Comfort” and “Business Plus” options available.
The overall development concept is inspired by the geographic context, with the design drawing on the mountains, dunes, rivers and cotton fields of Uzbekistan as well as the history of the ancient Silk Road.
