Chapman Taylor develops workspace design concept for historic Náměstí Republiky 7 building in Prague

Scott.Weber Workspace has announced its latest transformative project: the reimagining of the historic Náměstí Republiky 7 (NR7) building in the heart of Prague. Originally constructed in 1905, this eight-story neoclassical landmark is undergoing a €39.8 million renovation, with Chapman Taylor leading the workplace design concept. The much-anticipated project is scheduled to open in Q2 2025.

In partnership with CRESTYL Group and other collaborators, the 4,630m2 project will offer state-of-the-art facilities, including:

  • 90 private offices
  • 17 meeting rooms
  • An indoor atrium
  • Roof terraces and a conservatory
  • Four event halls, the largest accommodating up to 130 guests

The NR7 building has a rich history, having served as a hub for various institutions, including banks, insurance companies, and the renowned Laurin & Klement car manufacturer. The renovation preserves the building’s unique architectural elements, such as wrought iron railings and mirrored walls, while seamlessly introducing modern workplace features.

Filip Pokorný, Director at Chapman Taylor, said: “We sought to balance the preservation of the building’s heritage with the integration of cutting-edge workspace design. Our goal is to provide a productive, inspiring environment for its future occupants.”

The workspace will emphasise natural light, flexible layouts, and communal areas to enhance productivity and creativity, setting a new standard for historical renovations in Prague.
