Chapman Taylor triumphs in six categories at this year’s Asia-Pacific Property Awards
Chapman Taylor is delighted to report that six of our projects have won awards at the prestigious Asia-Pacific Property Awards, 2018-19.
The British Club in Bangkok, has been awarded ‘Best Leisure Development in Thailand’, while the Riedel Wine Bar & Cellar, also in Bangkok, won ‘Best Retail Interior in Thailand’. Meanwhile, Park Vue Altura in Gurugram has won ‘Best Residential High-Rise Architecture in India’, Orbit Towers in Hyderabad has won ‘Best Office Architecture in India’ and the M3M Financial Centre in Gurugram has won ‘Best Mixed-Use Architecture in India’. Finally, No. 1 Department Store in Shanghai, China, won 'Best Retail Interior in China'.
Set in the centre of Thailand's buzzing capital city, the British Club is an exclusive members-only club. The 3,000m² project is hospitality and leisure-based, aimed at young families. Facilities will include a children’s play park, international-standard squash courts, a feature cantilevered fitness suite and new F&B spaces. Opened in 2016, Bangkok’s Riedel Wine Bar & Cellar is the first wine bar and restaurant opened by the world-renowned Riedel glassware company. The project previously won the 'Best Shopping Centre' award in the 'Retail Concepts' category at the ICSC Asia-Pacific Awards 2017.
The Park View Altura project creates a 10-acre luxury housing project in Gurugram, India which incorporates residential high-rise towers. The scheme is currently under construction and is on course to complete in 2019. Meanwhile, Orbit Towers in Hyderabad, India will be a 102,000m² GLA office development for IT companies, spread over a site of 3.7 acres. The scheme is currently under construction and due to complete by 2021. Finally, the M3M Financial Centre in Gurugram will be a 75,000m² GLA retail and office tower development, creating a 180m, mixed-use tower which will be the tallest office building in India. Presently under construction, it will complete in 2022.
Shanghai No. 1 Department Store, once the largest in the Far East, was opened in 1936, and our renovation scheme reimagined the famous store while restoring it to its former glory. The old department store and two adjacent buildings total 110,000m² in retail space, with a rooftop garden, an international food market and bookstores. Our competition-winning interior scheme creates a series of different spaces, each targeted at specific demographic groups.
The annual Asia-Pacific Property Awards will this year take place at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok on 3 – 4 May. The event is one of the most important in the region’s property industry calendar.
The Awards are now in their 25th year, covering over 45 different residential and commercial categories, and the winners are automatically entered for the International Property Awards, which take place in London in December. Members of the UK House of Lords will form an independent panel to judge the Asia-Pacific Awards.
Congratulations to everyone involved in all these projects for their well-deserved success.
