Chapman Taylor wins competition to refurbish Sparkasse savings bank in Iserlohn
Chapman Taylor share the first prize for an architectural competition, together with bkp architects, for the conversion of the Sparkasse savings bank in Iserlohn, Germany. The bank will be investing around 18.6 million euros in the refurbishment of their existing building, which is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2019. Chapman Taylor is responsible for the architecture, while bkp will be designing the interior.
The refurbishment of the savings bank is the first step towards the redevelopment of the whole area around Schillerplatz, which the city of Iserlohn is planning to undertake in the upcoming years together with the adjacent Karstadt department store.
With this design, Chapman Taylor has succeeded in developing a confident and contemporary looking building for the Sparkasse Iserlohn, that takes a strong urbanistic position and at the same time offers a modern and attractive environment for employees and customers.
