Chapman Taylor’s 2019 60th anniversary International Photography Competition results announced
The results of Chapman Taylor’s 2019 International Photography Competition have been announced, with 1st prize being awarded to Peter Kajtar of our Brussels studio.
The competition brief challenged people from across Chapman Taylor’s worldwide studios to create a series of three photographs inspired by this year’s theme of ‘Diamonds’ (marking Chapman Taylor’s 60th anniversary).
Peter Kajtar's entry - 1st prize
Peter’s entry was described by the judging panel as ‘a striking composition of images that cleverly addressed the diamond theme, inviting the viewer to look closer and decipher each image.’
2nd place went to Gustavo Bonny, also from our Brussels studio, for what the judges described as an excellent architectural composition, elegantly cropped and framed to address the diamond theme’, while 3rd place was awarded to Jorge Alonso from our Madrid studio, whose entry was described as ‘a rich, bold and evocative composition.’
Chris Bardsley, from our Manchester studio, was 'highly commended' for his creation, which included what the judges thought was the ‘best individual image – a technically complex shot that captures the sparkle of diamonds.’
The judges were consistently impressed by the sheer effort put into the task by the competitors – producing inventive, technically subtle and beautiful compositions based upon strikingly diverse interpretations of the theme.
Congratulations to Peter, Gustavo, Jorge and Chris, and well done to everyone who entered for producing a consistently high quality of work which made our judges’ task extremely difficult.
We at Chapman Taylor know that fostering creative talent is the key to our success – it is our creative design approach which enables us to produce projects which surprise and delight, standing the test of time.
