Chapman Taylor’s Central Jablonec scheme is officially launched
CEE developer Crestyl opened their latest shopping centre Central Jablonec, in Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic on Friday 31st March. Designed by Chapman Taylor’s Prague studio the three storey centre sits between Komenskeho and Generála Mrázka streets and replaces an old department store, workshops and surface parking.
The mall offers a wide range of shops and services within 70 units over an area of 13,000sqm. The proposals include covered parking for 180 cars. The supermarket on the lowest level is accessible directly from the street, the ground floor is focused on fashion shops and other retail, with the first floor offering extended fashion retail, toys, kids entertainment and a foodcourt that overlooks the adjacent park.
The interior design is based on the clean geometric shapes of cut glass, reflecting the traditional glass industry for which Jablonec is famous. The facades of Central Jablonec take the rock strata and nature of the surrounding mountains as themes, and are finished in a combination of perforated metal panels and render to fit in with the local context.
