Chapman Taylor’s International Team building trip to Madrid

Chapman Taylor’s annual international team-building trip took place between Friday, April 11th, and Sunday, April 13th, 2025.

Colleagues from across our Studios joined us for an inspiring weekend of connection, collaboration, and adventure.

Employees from our Bristol, Brussels, Düsseldorf, London, Madrid, Manchester, and Prague studios gathered in Madrid for a two-night stay, starting with a challenging group hike on Saturday through the stunning Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range. The team tackled the renowned Camino Schmidt trail—an invigorating 17km route reaching elevations of around 1,982 metres and lasting approximately six hours. Camino Schmidt runs from Puerto de Navacerrada to Las Dehesas, and Camino del Agua to Cercedilla, the hike's finishing point.

Despite the demanding terrain, the group of around 40 team members completed the hike together, showcasing teamwork and plenty of good humour along the way. The day concluded with a well-earned team rooftop dinner in Madrid, followed by an 18km guided city tour on Sunday, offering the chance to explore the architectural and cultural highlights of the Spanish capital.

The city tour started in Gran Vía and included landmarks such as El Retiro, Paseo del Prado, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and ended in Temple of Debod near Plaza de España.
