Concept design unveiled for Atyrau Mall shopping and entertainment centre in Kazakhstan
Chapman Taylor has created a well-received concept design for a major new shopping centre in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, the first of its kind in the city.
Atyrau Mall will offer 30,000m2 of retail, leisure and entertainment to the city, which is rapidly expanding due to the proximity of Kazakhstan's largest oil field in the Caspian Sea. The exciting new destination will be capable of accommodating more than 350,000 people, and will become a dynamic and popular venue in which people can spend their leisure time as well as shopping.
The building's striking architecture will be modern and sleek, projecting a sense of confidence in the city through its memorable and attractive form.
With a mix of regional and international brands, the development will consist of a circuit of bright and colourful, naturally lit retail malls punctuated by dramatic domed atrium spaces which will host F&B, entertainment and exhibition spaces as well as offering spaces in which shoppers can dwell.
A spacious main entrance atrium will provide an exciting and attractive welcome to visitors, drawing them further in towards the diverse array of offers. A large cinema complex offering the latest regional and international films will help reinforce the centre’s ambition of being an all-day destination for all the family.
Chapman Taylor has created this innovative retail and leisure concept for JM Capital. The governor of the Atyrau region has approved the concept, praising the design vision as being something the city very much needs as it develops.
