Creativity: Chapman Taylor scheme incorporates unique ‘Artful Living’ concept
42 Maslak, designed by Chapman Taylor’s London & Madrid studios and currently onsite in Istanbul has adopted a unique ‘Artful Living’ concept, making it one of Turkey’s most unique art platforms.
The 250,000m2 residential-led mixed-use scheme for client Bay Insaat (Bay Construction), which incorporates two 42 storey towers, sits on the edge of the city centre and is in one of the main business districts in Istanbul & Turkey.
It is the first property project in Turkey that has art integrated throughout its composition. It embraces the concept of ‘Artful Living’ which is a lifestyle brand created by Bay Construction that is inspired by art and advocates blending art and architecture together to create a better living and work environment.
‘Artful Living’ supports both local and global artists and injects & blends culture and art into the DNA of the initial design stages of a property development through to completion. As such, art has been incorporated throughout the construction process at 42 Maslak from the ‘arty’ livery design on the construction vehicles such as trucks, cement mixers and earth movers which have all been designed and painted by graphic artists, through to the art-led marketing campaign for the development. As a result, potential buyers of properties can see the artful living approach at work, right from the very beginning.
The aim when the scheme is fully complete in 2016 is to make 42 Maslak a vibrant one stop district for Turkey’s cultural and art scene by mixing work, leisure and art.
