Designer Outlet Warsaw opens in Poland
The Chapman Taylor-designed extension of Designer Outlet Warsaw has opened in Poland.
Designer Outlet Warsaw is a unique retail destination in the city, providing discounted offers from major international brands. The new extension expands the total retail space to 23,000m², adding a third more retail space to the existing complex. The new wing hosts 30 new brands.
The central entrance, leading directly to the food court, has been rearranged to provide additional restaurant space, with a new conservatory featuring large windows bringing abundant natural light into the stylish interior.
There is also a new 25,000m² multi-storey car park, adding 800 parking spaces to the existing surface parking spaces to create 1,400 spaces in total.
The extension malls, façade and car park have been designed to complement the existing Outlet building, the architecture for which is inspired by Warsaw’s historic Old Town.
As well as architectural and interior design, Chapman Taylor’s Warsaw studio also coordinated the multidisciplinary engineering services. Our role included providing retail consultancy, feasibility studies for the existing retail, interior design for the new retail wing and the remodelled food court and the submission of various administrative applications. Kajima Poland acted as general contractor.
The official opening of Designer Outlet Warsaw took place on 18 May 2021. Despite pandemic restrictions, the expansion of the Outlet has proved to be a great success. Poland's largest outlet centre, the project was named "Best Investment of the Year" in the Polish retail market at the 2021 Prime Property Awards.
