Eda wins a North West Homebuilder Award

Eda, a 331-foot Build-to-Rent tower designed by Chapman Taylor in Salford Quays, Manchester, has won an Award at the North West Homebuilder Awards by Cowgills in the Larger Apartment Scheme of the Year category. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at New Century Hall in Manchester.

The Cowgills North West Homebuilder Awards is the first of its kind in the North West and the UK. It specifically acknowledges the hard work being undertaken by small- to medium-sized homebuilders (SMEs) to meet the region’s housing requirements. In addition, our Eda client - Cole Waterhouse - was also awarded the prize for 'Homebuilder of the Year'.

Eda is a remarkable 29-storey residential tower offering 290 build-to-rent apartments in various configurations, including 1-bed, 2-bed, and 3-bed layouts. The building boasts abundant amenity space designed to enrich residents' lives, with extensive ground floor and mezzanine levels serving as vibrant hubs for work, exercise, and social gatherings. These spaces are complemented by biodiverse green areas, adding a touch of nature to urban living.

Internally, Eda features many amenities, including co-working spaces, residents' lounges, a cinema room, bookable private dining and entertaining facilities, a fully equipped gym, and an on-site concierge and management team. The development includes 4,000 sqft of commercial space, already pre-let to Co-op Food, and shared residential landscaped terraces and rooftop penthouse apartments with expansive private terraces.

Collaborating closely with the client Cole Waterhouse, Chapman Taylor conceptualised Eda's vision, completed the concept design, and secured full planning approval in October 2020. Construction commenced in Summer 2021 and reached completion in September 2023.
