First phase of Reel Cinemas complex opens at Dubai’s Al Ghurair Centre

The much-anticipated first phase of the Reel Cinemas complex at Dubai’s Al Ghurair Centre has opened to the public.

This stage of the development delivers eight state-of-the-art cinema theatres with cutting-edge audiovisual technology, as well as an attractive F&B area. The cinema complex sits in its own dedicated, two-level wing, which connects to the rest of the centre via a link bridge.

Opening in time to show the eagerly awaited Avengers: Endgame, among other regional, Bollywood and international films, the Reel Cinemas scheme is a fitting addition to the region’s first ever shopping centre, helping to bring a strong sense of experience to the flagship destination.

Another 10 theatres will open later this year, with options for moviegoers at the 7,000m² complex including a Dolby Cinema, luxury Platinum Suites and a Reel Junior theatre for kids – providing something for all the family. The finished scheme will accommodate 1,800 seats across its 18 cinema theatres.

Chapman Taylor acted as Lead Architect, creating the design concepts and then working closely with contractor Al Tayer Stocks to detail and deliver this project on behalf of Emaar Entertainment.
