Great turnout for “Let’s Build London” event on 23 June
We were delighted to see a very impressive turnout for the Open City “Let’s Build London” event on Sunday 23 June, where some of the brightest architects and urban planners of the next few decades showed the older generation how to design with flair.
Chapman Taylor organised the Open House Families event for the second year running to create a real town planning brief for children to design and construct. Their challenge was to rebuild an area of London around the River Thames using only cardboard boxes and their imaginations.
The architectural vision and design on display was again of a consistently high quality, involving varied, innovative and inspiring urban designs. We look forward to seeing the best designs being used as inspiration for new districts across the city in the coming years.
Open City is a charity which promotes people-centred city design, organising year-round events to promote understanding of what makes for a people-friendly built environment. The 'Let’s Build London' event was designed to inspire the next generation of city-shapers.
We look forward to being involved at next year’s event!
