Honorable Mention in the Architectural Competition for the New Cyprus Institute of Neurology
Athos Dikaios + Associates Architects, Architecture Design Practice and Chapman Taylor's joint competition entry to design the new Institute of Neurology and Genetics in Cyprus has just received an 'Honorable Mention' in the prestigious architectural competition.
The proposal seeks to create a new, viable, functional and accessible building complex that will unify the proposed open-air parking area, the new building of the Institute of Neurology and Genetics, the new open-air amphitheatre and the existing building of the Institute.
In terms of sustainability, beyond the principles of bio-climatic design, the proposed design also seeks to provide common spaces, green areas and plazas, establishing it as a destination, and an area that promotes gatherings, meetings, the sharing of knowledge and a space where community, science and culture meet.
The award ceremony took place on Thursday 13 September.
