ICU 1 ward completes at Bumrungrad International Hospital, Bangkok
New pictures show the first intensive care unit redesign, at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
The completion of ICU1 ward follows the completion of the Level 6 inpatient ward earlier this year. The ICU1 ward is part of a 25,000-square-meter renovation of floors 7-12.
From our research into the psychology of colours, we understand that wards should be painted in colours which inspire calm and serenity, and are not too heavy on the senses, evoking familiarity. Overly bright colours can be both tiring and disturbing for patients who spend most of their time in their beds. Warm decor and gentle accents with natural light create an environment that is optimal for healing.
Set in the heart of Bangkok on Sukhumvit Road, Bumrungrad International Hospital is fast becoming a sought-after ‘medical tourism’ destination. With the appearance and service of a five-star hotel, the hospital has been internationally acclaimed and recognised for providing high standards of treatment. The hospital was recently ranked number nine in the top ten hospitals in the world.
Among the hospital’s provisions, Chapman Taylor has designed a sports clinic and rehabilitation centre, a dental clinic, a behavioural clinic and several shared public spaces.
