Leisure Director David Wallace talks to Construction Week about our diverse work in Saudi Arabia
Leisure Director David Wallace has been interviewed for Construction Week YouTube Channel, speaking about Chapman Taylor’s expanding body of work in Saudi Arabia.
In the interview, David talks about Chapman Taylor’s work with Muvi Cinemas, designing and rolling out the first ever Saudi-owned cinema brand’s venues across the country, with 10 completed to date (including the country’s largest cinema complex at Mall of Dhahran) and another 10 due to complete in the coming months. Chapman Taylor was engaged by Fawaz Al Hokair Group in 2019 to design and deliver these state-of-the art cinemas.
He also outlines our 1.91 million m2 Airport City project, a world-class, mixed-use development adjacent to Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport. The innovative scheme, which we are designing for SARH Airport Development and Real Estate Investment, together with AE Prime as a lead consultant and project manager, creates diverse tourism and business opportunities while also providing a dynamic lifestyle and family entertainment venue.
The Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, is home to a wide range of markets, cultures, landscapes and architectural traditions, within which Chapman Taylor has designed suitably diverse projects across several sectors over many years.
Our knowledge of the region and its complexities has allowed Chapman Taylor to design award-winning, contextually appropriate projects across many of its countries. Our Dubai studio, led by David, is at the heart of this successful strategy and our growing portfolio of work in Saudi Arabia is testament to our excellent reputation in the region.
