Chapman Taylor’s East Kidwai Nagar is praised for being exemplar scheme
Chapman Taylor’s New Delhi studio has received praise from a number of leading minister’s in the region for their East Kidwai Nagar project which is due to fully complete in December 2018.
The 35 hectare redevelopment project at the South of Central Delhi is a 1.3 million m² mixed use development, which upon completion would provide 1.1 million ft² office space and over 4,608 new apartments.
Leading authorities including the Minister of State for Urban Development said that the East Kidwai Nagar project should be replicated in other regions to provide more housing and improve the urban landscape. Speaking at the official opening of three elements of the scheme; the Local Shopping Complex, Senior Secondary School and Banquet Hall.
The development is mentioned in the 'Smart City Guidelines' from the Government of India and also has impressive green credentials. It runs entirely on green energy with the grid connected roof top solar systems on the three buildings generating 250 KW of electricity - 200 KW used for three buildings and the remaining 50 KW transferred to the grid.
It also houses a complete in-house solid and liquid waste management facilities along with rain water harvesting systems.
