Planning permission granted for Ameside, Pilsen
After a thorough public consultation process, an environmental impact study and a series of extensive design stages, Czech developer Ameside, part of the property group Amádeus Real, has now gained planning approval for the proposed Ameside mixed-use city centre district. The next step is to obtain the building permit.
Chapman Taylor has been instrumental in developing the proposals over a number of years and is a key part of the client’s project team. Amádeus Real, based in Prague, is aiming to deliver a series of exciting new urban spaces and to bring a high-quality urban realm to this prominent location in Pilsen; carefully integrating the development into the existing city structure and bringing new workplace, residential and retail opportunities to the wider region.
The Ameside urban quarter, which regenerates a former brownfield site, will deliver 120 new residential units, 24,000m2 of offices, a 110-room hotel and 100 new shops to the area. The project also includes a large leisure component, F&B outlets and cultural functions, including an eight-theatre cinema and a multi-function hall dedicated for use by the city.
The design focused on creating a high-quality public realm, bringing exciting new urban spaces to Pilsen. The scheme complements the existing urban structure along Americka Street and creates a vibrant new embankment along the riverfront with excellent views across to the old town.
The 3.5-hectare plot lies directly between Pilsen main railway station and the historic city square. It is served by excellent public transportation links and offers easy access for pedestrians, cyclists and car drivers alike.
