Floreasca Park wins Financial Times' CEEQA award for RealGreen Building of the Year 2015

On 11th March, Chapman Taylor's Floreasca Park office project was announced winner of the Financial Times Central and Eastern Europe Real Estate Quality Awards (CEEQA) for RealGreen Building of the Year 2015. This makes Floreasca Park this year’s greenest commercial building in Central and Eastern Europe.

These Awards cover a region of 18 countries and recognise outstanding achievements for green building and commercial real estate investment in New Europe.

Located just north of Bucharest’s city centre, Floreasca Park is a new 38,500m² net office park development, with a particular focus on low energy consumption. The office development was designed by Chapman Taylor’s Prague design studio, which was asked to produce a unique and ecological office scheme. Our design solution improved the original target for the building of ‘BREEAM Very Good’ to ‘BREEAM Excellent rating’ by utilising a high proportion of renewable energy via a ground sourced heat pump (GSHP) and employing highly efficient environmental systems. These measures have reduced energy costs with the benefit of lower service charges being passed on to the high profile tenants.

The award was collected at a ceremony during MIPIM 2015 by Robert Neale, Managing Director of Portland Trust, who has developed a string of highly successful office buildings in the Romanian capital over the last 10 years.

Floreasca Park was recognised by the CEEQA Awards for the first time in 2014, picking up 'Office Development of the Year 2014'.

Congratulations to all involved.
