Renovation at Angel Place in Worcester set to begin in March
Work is set to begin in March on the transformation of the Angel Place entrance and façade of Crowngate Shopping Centre in Worcester, as part of a £1.5m investment to create an exciting, modern shopping environment and a rejuvenated public space.
The refurbishment is a key part of the regeneration of the Friary Walk area of the shopping centre. The frontage at Angel Place will be upgraded in a traditional style in keeping with the surrounding architecture, and will provide a much more welcoming environment for visitors.
Angel Place will serve as a public square, and will enhance the character and appearance of this historic conservation area.
The wider regeneration will see the reconfiguration of units within the Friary Walk part of the centre. With a more flexible range of uses, the renovation of units will encourage an exciting mix of new businesses, retailers and restaurants to come to Worcester city centre.
The shopping centre will remain open throughout the works, with stores trading as normal. The works will include new windows and a refurbished shopping centre elevation at Angel Place, modernising the entrance and introducing a new window box with improved signage throughout.
Chapman Taylor designed the façade and entrance refurbishment at Angel Place for The Crown Estate.
