Plaza Rio 2, set to be Madrid’s largest shopping centre, will open in October 2017
Construction works of Plaza Rio 2 in Madrid are continuing rapidly, reaching the stage of closing the envelope with the execution of the roofs and skylights.
With a planned opening in October 2017, the leasing process is advancing at a similar speed due to high market interest in the scheme. The scheme has also attracted significant public and local authority interest as a result of the very successful consultation process.
The scheme will be located along the banks of the river Manzanares in Madrid and will be the capital’s largest shopping centre.
Plaza Rio 2 will comprise of 130,000 square metres including 180 shops, restaurants, entertainment facilities and 1,500 parking spaces. The building is designed to be highly sustainable with advanced systems to maximise energy efficiency.
