Work starts on Plaza Rio 2, set to be Madrid’s largest shopping centre

On June 1st Chapman Taylor’s designed Plaza Rio 2 will start on site. The scheme will be located along the banks of the river Manzanares in Madrid and will be the capital’s largest shopping centre.

Plaza Rio 2 will comprise of 130,000 square metres including 180 shops, restaurants, entertainment facilities and 1,500 parking spaces.  The building will be designed to be highly sustainable with advanced systems to maximise energy efficiency. 

Plaza Rio 2 is due for completion in 2017.
