Studio Profile: Our Bangkok team’s current projects across South-East Asia and beyond
In response to the current COVID-19 emergency, our Bangkok studio’s team members have all been working from home since 16 March 2020 and, with the help of digital technology, the transition has been going very well. Every project team is coordinating as they were doing previously, through online chats and file sharing.
Among the key projects across Thailand, South-East Asia and beyond on which the studio is currently working are two smart city masterplans for central Bangkok – one is a transportation-orientated development while the other is a luxury residential district – as well as a new smart city District Command Centre. There is also a Eco Smart City masterplan design in development for Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
Construction is advanced at The Cove, on Koh Phangan Island. Five luxury residences are being provided within 3,000m² of landscaped grounds, each reflecting a calm, relaxing and minimalist approach to life. The architecture and interior design incorporate subtle details which pay homage to local culture and the surrounding environment.
The studio is also working on a major wellness resort for Hyderabad in India, a leading healthcare complex for Bangkok and an advanced sports medicine centre, also for Bangkok.
Phase 2 of our design for the renovation of The British Club in Bangkok is now ready for construction. Set in the centre of Thailand's buzzing capital city, The British Club is an exclusive members-only club. The 3,000m² project is hospitality and leisure-based, aimed at young families. Facilities will include a children’s play park, international-standard squash courts, a feature cantilevered fitness suite and new F&B spaces.
The Bangkok team is holding regular team video conferences, design reviews and project coordination sessions, as well as holding a weekly studio “Coffee Talk” to catch up with everyone. Although the circumstances have been challenging, the studio is committed to providing a seamless service to its clients.
