The Lexicon, Bracknell, wins two prestigious Revo Gold Awards
The Lexicon, part of the Bracknell regeneration programme, was the big winner at last night’s Revo Gold Awards ceremony, winning Gold in the Re:new category and ‘Best of the Best’ in the Re:turn category.
The awards triumph of The Lexicon reflects the quality and scale of what is one of the largest town centre regeneration projects in the UK - with 60,000m² of new retail and leisure provision. 1,000 residential properties have also been made available, in a mix of new and converted developments.
The regeneration provides a vibrant, mixed-use environment in which shopping and leisure amenities line both open and covered public streets. The scheme provides for 70 retail, food and leisure units, and a 1,300-space car park.
With restaurants and bars fronting brand new public squares, and a new 12-screen Cineworld cinema in place, the area is designed to remain a popular destination late into the evening. Existing shop façades have been enhanced, and environmental improvements have been made. The entire redevelopment was delivered on time and within budget.
The project is part of a £240 million scheme by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership to transform the town centre. Chapman Taylor designed one of the two key components of the scheme, at Charles Square – connecting the brand new Northern Quarter to the existing Princess Square, and also undertook the lead delivery architect role for the entire Lexicon development.
Revo is an organisation which aims to shape the future of retail property by working with government and others to help develop a beneficial regulatory environment. The annual Revo awards ceremony, which brings together more than 900 of the most influential figures in the property sector, is one of the most anticipated in the industry calendar.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the project for these well-deserved awards!
