Two prestigious design awards for Molo Lipno in the Czech Republic
The Chapman Taylor-designed Molo Lipno residential apartments were successfully completed earlier this year and have since gained a number of prestigious accolades for the architecture and the overall quality of the development. The luxury residential destination offers 79 lakeside apartments and penthouses together with a public pier featuring a high-class restaurant. The apartments have beautiful views over Lipno lake and the surrounding Southern Bohemian countryside.
Chapman Taylor’s designs combine a detailed understanding of the needs of the resort’s residents and guests with a sensitivity to the beautiful countryside and lakeside context.
The apartment complex recently won ‘Best Large Scale Residential Project’ at the Best of Realty Awards in the Czech Republic, the jury appreciating the exceptional architecture, the high-quality workmanship and the thoughtful details of the project. They also commented on the sensitive integration of the development into the lakeside setting. Due to its layout, and thanks to the 150-meter-long timber pier, the project forms an impressive landmark and creates a new social focus for the lakeside community. The restaurant has become a destination in its own right, attracting visitors from the wider region to sample the outstanding cuisine prepared by renowned head chef David Šašek.
In October this year, Molo Lipno Residence received the main sponsor’s award from Wienerberger in the Stavba Roku (Building of the Year) 2022 competition.
The adjoining luxury hotel, also designed by Chapman Taylor, is due to start construction in 2024.
Lipno is surrounded by the Šumava National Park – a stunning ancient forest which is a haven for highly diverse flora and fauna. The area, near the Austrian border in southern Bohemia, is ideal for water sports, sailing, hiking, cycling and horse riding in the summer, with skating and alpine/cross-country skiing during the winter months.
