Val Saint Lambert Free Time Park wins 2019 “Best Futura Shopping Centre” MAPIC award
Val Saint Lambert Free Time Park in Seraing, Belgium, for which Chapman Taylor designed the leisure element, has won the 2019 “Best Futura Shopping Centre” MAPIC award.
Free Time Park, which is being developed by Immobilière du Val Saint Lambert, will be a new mixed-use tourist destination which has been designed to provide an exciting day-out experience for all the family. The development sits within a site which also hosts a well-known 19th century castle and 14th century abbey.
The retail, leisure and office project will be powered by a unique sustainable energy system which will help to optimise the development’s carbon footprint while lowering costs for tenants operating within the scheme.
The Chapman Taylor-designed leisure provisions will include a water park, a family entertainment centre and the entrance to an adventure eco-park, all serving to create enjoyable memories (and social media images) for people of all generations.
Chapman Taylor’s Benelux studio was part of a wider design team collaboratively designing Val Saint Lambert Free Time Park, including Christian Sauvage (retail), Minale Design Strategy (design) and Altiplan (offices).
Congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved award!
