Middle East: Our proposal for the Ultimate Shopping City
Set in the Middle East, this truly ground-breaking competition entry from Chapman Taylor, a world-leader in large scale mixed-use schemes, sets out to depict a futuristic retail and leisure destination that would be ‘The best shopping city in the world’.
This is a city designed around a street-scape concept that incorporates a mixture of cultural, commercial, technology, educational, healthcare, sporting, entertainment, as well as shopping and hotel uses. The scheme is an island, surrounded by a series of waterways, lakes and green boulevards.
The competition site was located on a land parcel of 4,645,200m2, with an additional 929,030m2 second phase extension.
The design creates many extraordinary spaces and experiences, with a carefully contrasted palette of architectural ideas in a clear and controlled framework, creating the ultimate shopping city of the future.
The concept also includes a dramatic water-effect – where a lost city rises from the lake surrounded by fire, fountains and waterfalls.
This design concept showcases the very best of Chapman Taylor: World-beating masterplanning and inspirational design capabilities, large scale mixed-use design know-how on an unprecedented scale, and commercial leadership.
This is why we are the proud winner of over 200 architectural awards globally.
