MediaCityUK picks up Regeneration Project of the Year at the MIPIM UK Awards
MediaCityUK has won Regeneration Project of the Year at the Estates Gazette / MIPIM UK Awards. The awards, now in their second year, happen during the MIPIM UK exhibition (October 21st – 23rd October) at London’s Olympia and recognise and reward the efforts of property developers and their partners working to revitalise towns and cities across the UK.
Editor of Estates Gazette, Damian Wild said: “These awards celebrate those who are making a difference to the urban fabric of the UK. What impressed our judges was the innovation, diversity and tenacity shown by all the winners in areas where fresh thinking is desperately needed. Some of the projects will contribute to speeding up delivery of much-needed affordable housing, others will help rebalance the economy away from London.”
The waterside development at Salford Quays by developer Peel Group completed Phase 1 in 2010 providing a new home for the BBC and a new destination with digital creativity, learning and leisure at its heart.
MediaCityUK continues to grow and Chapman Taylor is currently masterplanning the expansion as well as designing further developments including 'The Regent' office and 'Tomorrow' a mixed-use studio office and hotel building.
