Wuyue Plaza opens in Zhangzhou, China
Chapman Taylor won a design competition and was also appointed to deliver the interior design for Wuyue Plaza Mall in Zhangzhou in November 2021. The 175,000 sqm project successfully completed in September 2023.

The interior design of Zhangzhou Wuyue Plaza is based on the seafaring characteristics of Zhangzhou which is a coastal city.
Main Atrium
Zhangzhou has been an important trading port in China since ancient times, it is an indispensable trading city along the maritime Silk Road. In the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty, the port of Zhangzhou was the only legal private maritime port in China.
Main Entrance
The maritime Silk Road which extended from Zhangzhou Port reached 47 countries and regions, making it one of the most important trading points in Southeast Asia.
Children's Area
The street at ground level theme is ‘Treasure Bay' and the atriums themes are 'Adventures at Sea', 'Ocean Theatre', and 'Ocean Concert Hall' - each one with distinct characteristics.
Main Atrium
Materials and colours vary according to each theme, making it easy for customers to distinguish their location, explore the space, and of course, take photographs to record their experiences.
