Xperience leisure zone opens at Sant Boi shopping centre in Barcelona
The new Xperience leisure and F&B venue at Sant Boi shopping centre in Barcelona has opened to the public after an 26 million euros refurbishment of the centre by Chapman Taylor.
The renovation, on behalf of Ceetrus, creates a new and inviting façade for the centre and a contemporary interior design for the new 14,500 m² Xperience extension, which houses a food court, gym, trampoline park, and a new children's Pumptrack (mountain bike circuit with high bank turns and jumps) located adjacent to the centre.
Our interior design for Xperience creates an intuitive and simple circuit that links all areas with a main corridor – simulating Barcelona’s main road – culminating at the "Plaza", where an integrated stage and large LED screen are located for performances and other events.
Natural light floods the space during the day through a combination of extensive glazing and semi-open spaces, the latter of which also provides natural ventilation, though the design prevents glare and solar gains. In the evenings, the centre is lit by modern and attractive LED lighting schemes throughout.
The food court is designed to allow visibility to the stage and screen from all parts, so that all customers can enjoy the entertainment while dining. The design makes use of a combination of neutral and warm tones to create a fun and exciting space in which to spend time.
