10 million Euro regeneration for the CinecittàDue shopping centre
Chapman Taylor has been commissioned to update the design of the CinecittàDue shopping centre, a historic mall in Rome, Italy.
With a total investment of around 10 million euros, Silvano Toti Holdings, owner of the CinecittàDue, will oversee the architectural redesign, working with Chapman Taylor.
More than just an expensive facelift, the objective of the architectural ‘restyle’ is to integrate and adapt the centre's offer, transforming it into a multifunctional destination. The venue will host retail, cutting-edge F&B, leisure services and spaces for socialising.
Customer expectations have changed since the shopping centre first opened its doors. Architect Victorio Caponetto, explains, “CinecittàDue was born 33 years ago, at a time when building a shopping centre could prove to be a risky bet. A courageous investment, if you will. The architectural project was carried out with criteria that today can be considered as a good basis for continuing in the direction of environmental sustainability, implementing the quality of the experience within the centre".
The restyling works have already started and will proceed in successive steps, both inside and outside the shopping centre. The completion of the interventions is scheduled for the end of 2023.
