Award: Chapman Taylor wins a polis AWARD

Our studio in Germany together with Signature Capital has won the prestigious German polis AWARD for the project 'City Plaza Wuppertal' in the regenerated town centres category.

The jury recognised the project’s contribution to the enhancement of Wuppertal’s city centre. Wuppertal is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in and around the river Wupper valley, and is situated east of the city of Düsseldorf and south of the Ruhr area. With a population of approximately 350,000, it is the largest city in the Bergisches Land. 

The close cooperation between private investors, public partners and the architects was also praised as well as the innovative high-quality of the architecture.

The polis AWARD for urban and real estate development acknowledges projects in various categories which contribute beyond their scope to the public good of a city.

Out of more than 120 applications from all over the country, the jury selected five projects in each category, of which one winner and two acknowledgements were chosen on 20 April, the first day of the polis Convention 2016.
