Awards: BBC North in Salford is awarded BCO ‘Test of Time’ Award
The BCO (British Council for Offices) Awards in the UK, which celebrate the best workplace buildings, has awarded their ‘Test of Time’ award 2016 to the BBC Offices at MediaCityUK. Chapman Taylor provided a range of services across the MediaCityUK Phase 1 project, including Masterplan Guardian, Contract Administrator and detailed design and delivery of the CAT B fit out to the three BBC office buildings, including specialist broadcast studios.
One of the BCO’s primary objectives is to define excellence in office space and provide public recognition for top quality design and a benchmark for excellence in workplaces. The ‘Test of Time’ award celebrates previous BCO award winners that have proven themselves to live up to their original aspirations and intentions. BBC North completed in 2011 and made way for the move of over 2,000 employees from London to the new BBC premises.
The Salford regeneration development has previously been awarded Regeneration Project of the Year at MIPIM UK in 2015 & Project of the Year at North West Regional Construction Awards in 2011.
Chapman Taylor are retained to design the Masterplan for Phase 2 MediaCityUK, including the concept design for 3 of the building plots, which has recently received planning approval.
