The Tall Buildings Awards, widely regarded as one of the most anticipated events in the UK construction calendar, aim to celebrate and honour innovative construction technologies that enhance and propel the design and construction of tall structures. By showcasing cutting-edge technologies, the awards underscore their potential to improve building safety, environmental practices, cost efficiencies, and delivery timescales, setting new standards for the industry to follow.
Eda stands as a remarkable 29-storey residential tower, offering 290 build-to-rent apartments in a variety of configurations, including 1-bed, 2-bed, and 3-bed layouts. The tower boasts an abundance of amenity space designed to enrich residents' lives, with extensive ground floor and mezzanine levels serving as vibrant hubs for work, exercise, and social gatherings. These spaces are complemented by biodiverse green areas, adding a touch of nature to urban living.
Internally, Eda features a host of amenities, including co-working spaces, residents' lounges, a cinema room, bookable private dining and entertaining facilities, a fully equipped gym, and an on-site concierge and management team. Additionally, the development includes 4,000 sqft of commercial space, already pre-let to Co-op Food, as well as shared residential landscaped terraces and rooftop penthouse apartments with expansive private terraces.
Collaborating closely with Cole Waterhouse, Chapman Taylor conceptualized Eda's vision, completed the concept design, and secured full planning approval by October 2020. Construction commenced in Summer 2021 and reached completion in September 2023. The final results of the UK Tall Building Award will be unveiled at the ceremony following the Tall Buildings Conference on June 25, 2024, marking another milestone in Eda's illustrious journey.
