Chapman Taylor designing Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Industrial Park

Chapman Taylor is proud to lead the architectural design for the prestigious Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Industrial Park in Shandong, China. Recognized as a key project in both Jinan City and the Shandong Province directory, the development plays a vital role in advancing regional economic growth. The project aims to establish a national hub for innovation in the energy industry through a cutting-edge digital trade integration platform while promoting the sector’s digital transformation.

Covering approximately 40,900 square meters, with a total above-ground construction area of 167,800 square meters, the park features two striking 172.5-meter-tall gateway twin towers along Jing Shi Road. These towers, complemented by multi-functional podium buildings, will house facilities such as a conference center, sports center, banquet hall, exhibition center, and more. The design harmonizes traditional Chinese architectural elements, such as the symbolic "Pagoda," with sleek modern aesthetics, creating a landmark that symbolizes innovation and cultural heritage.

Architectural Excellence

The twin towers stand as a grand urban gateway in the eastern CBD, blending symmetry, verticality, and elegance. The façade design uses a refined combination of glass and stone, tapering vertically to enhance the skyline's aesthetic. The interiors embrace a philosophy of “Li (礼), Zun (尊), He (和), and Rong (融),” seamlessly integrating Chinese tradition with contemporary design. Spaces such as the shared indoor lobby, sports activity center, banquet hall, and garden-style employee restaurant reflect thoughtful planning that prioritizes functionality, flexibility, and well-being.

Landscape and Lighting

Adjacent to Lotus Mountain, the project introduces a "mountain-water ritual axis" landscape concept, emphasizing harmony between architecture and nature. The green and sustainable design integrates the urban ecosystem with diverse outdoor spaces, including multi-level terraces and vibrant plant configurations. Floodlighting enhances the corporate image at night, showcasing Shandong Energy's commitment to green energy. The lighting system adapts to seasonal changes, using advanced technology to create dynamic visuals inspired by China’s 24 solar terms.

Driving the Future of Energy

As construction progresses, the park will serve as a catalyst for industrial growth, attracting global enterprises in energy trade. By integrating international trade resources and leveraging supply chain innovations, the development will enhance Shandong Energy Group’s global influence in the energy sector.

With its innovative and sustainable approach, the Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Industrial Park is set to become a beacon for the future of energy, business, and urban development.
