Chapman Taylor designs Nam Quang Landmark Tower for central Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam
The tower will be strategically well-located beside the main road between the central urban district and the airport and surrounding provinces.
With its glass curtain wall façade, terracotta mullions, and translucent stone cladding at the retail podium, Nam Quang Landmark Tower will be a striking architectural addition to the skyline of the city.
An existing, popular cinema will be integrated with the commercial areas in the podium.
The tower’s design concept draws on the shapes and textures of Vietnamese silk lanterns – serving to combine both modern and traditional aspects of Vietnam.
The curved shape of the tower is reminiscent of the lantern’s bamboo frame, while the façades on the podium areas are designed to be translucent, providing natural light to the interiors during daytime and shining like a lantern at night-time.
