Chapman Taylor to Attend and Speak at the ARL Study Tour of Madrid

Chapman Taylor is delighted to announce its participation in the Association of Rental Living (ARL) Study Tour of Madrid, taking place on February 5th and 6th, 2025. This marks the first ARL-hosted international study tour, showcasing cutting-edge Build-to-Rent (BTR) developments and insights into the dynamic rental living market.

The two-day Madrid Study Tour will explore six groundbreaking developments that highlight innovation in design and operational excellence within the BTR sector. Alongside these site visits, attendees will hear from leading organisations such as Atlas Real Estate Analytics, Global Apartment Advisors, DLA Piper, Gensler, and more.

Representing Chapman Taylor, Director Michael Swiszczowski, Associate Director Richard Daw, and Associate Director Jorge Alonso will attend the event. Michael Swiszczowski will also deliver a keynote speech titled “Designing in the Spirit of Build-to-Rent in Different Countries – What the Spanish Market and UK Market Can Learn from One Another.”

Madrid: A Thriving Hub for Build-to-Rent

The Spanish BTR market has reached new heights, with more than 11,000 homes now available—a 27% increase since 2022. Madrid continues to lead this growth, with a remarkable 115% rise in BTR units, climbing from 2,725 in 2022 to 5,859 in 2024.

Key highlights of the market include:

  • BTR developments playing a crucial role in the rental market’s recovery.
  • 1-bedroom units experiencing the highest rent growth, at 34%.
  • Madrid cementing its position as the central hub for institutional investors and developers in Spain.

Spain’s robust rental market continues to attract major institutional players, reinforcing its strategic importance for large-scale BTR investments.
