Chapman Taylor’s International Team building hike in Madrid’s Sierra de Guadarrama
Chapman Taylor’s annual international team-building hiking trip took place on Saturday, 12th April 2025. Colleagues from across our European studios joined us for an inspiring weekend of connection, collaboration, and adventure.
Employees from our Bristol, Brussels, Düsseldorf, London, Madrid, Manchester, and Prague studios gathered in Madrid for a two-night stay, culminating in a challenging group hike through the stunning Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range. The team tackled the renowned Camino Schmidt trail—an invigorating 17km route reaching elevations of around 1,215 metres and lasting approximately six hours.
Despite the demanding terrain, the group of around 40 team members completed the hike together, showcasing teamwork and plenty of good humour along the way. The day concluded with a well-earned team rooftop dinner in Madrid, followed by an 18km guided city tour on Sunday, offering the chance to explore the architectural and cultural highlights of the Spanish capital.

Madrid City Tour
The city tour started in Gran Vía and included landmarks such as El Retiro, Paseo del Prado, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and ended in Temple of Debod near Plaza de España.
