Cineworld O2 wins “Leisure and Hospitality Project of the Year” at the 2019 AV Awards in London
Cineworld O2 has been named “Leisure and Hospitality Project of the Year” at the 2019 AV Awards, which took place on Friday 11 October at London’s Battersea Evolution.
Sponsored by AV Magazine and hosted by comedian Sean Lock, the awards honoured the best examples of tech innovation, talent and creativity in the audiovisual technology, events and production sectors.
Cineworld O2 is located in the O2 arena complex, a huge multi-purpose indoor entertainment venue which is the most popular music venue in the UK. It is served by a wide range of restaurants and bars, a large car park and excellent transport links.
Chapman Taylor refurbished and extended the Cineworld complex at the O2. The refurbishment project included adding cutting-edge cinema projection systems to the 11 existing screens, adding a Screen X, refurbishing the existing cinemas and lobbies, and installing a large digital LED screen in the lobby.
The extension increased the number of screens from 11 to 19, added a 4DX motion-seat and special effects theatre, and 3 VIP cinemas with reclining seats and access to a private VIP lounge. The extended Cineworld O2 is now the largest cinema complex in London, with a capacity of 4,500 seats.
Congratulations on this well-deserved award to Cineworld and everyone involved in transforming the popular cinema complex.
