Competition win for luxury housing development in Belgrade
Chapman Taylor’s studio in Düsseldorf has won a competition for the design of a high-end housing development in Belgrade, Serbia.
The development “Kalemegdan Park” takes its name from the historic park opposite, at the junction of the River Sava and Danube.
The façade is distinguished by an undulating wave-like array of loggias, which draw their inspiration from the flowing topography of the park. As well as offering outdoor space from which to enjoy panoramic park views, the loggias provide a privacy and environmental buffer for the building’s inhabitants.
The reduced, high-quality material palette includes white concrete, synthetic stone panels and bronze cladding. Construction is expected to begin in 2018.
