Construction progressing rapidly at Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 in Shanghai
Construction is advancing swiftly at the Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 in Shanghai, a key workplace-led, mixed-use development located at Zhangdong Road, Yindong Road, and Shengxia Road.
The main structural framework of the three towers has now been completed, while work on the steel structure of the connecting verandah is progressing at speed. The curtain wall installation is also well underway and is scheduled for completion later this year.
Designed by Chapman Taylor following a winning competition entry, the project is conceived as an innovative ecological community that supports co-governance and collaboration and encourages the congregation of top scientific and technological talent. The park ascends west to east, unfolding across eight unique and interconnected spaces: Zhangjiang Eye, Tianmu Street, Pandora Garden, Liuyun Terrace, Variety Atrium, Xingchen Square, Roof Paradise, and Time Passage.
The architectural vision embraces simplicity and unity, with a futuristic exterior that combines sculpted forms and textured materials. Concave and convex façade treatments visually elevate building volumes and link various functional blocks seamlessly. Vertical arcs and the interplay of glass and aluminium panels create a sleek, atmospheric, dynamic, and elegant appearance.
Designed with sustainability and well-being in mind, the masterplan places office buildings and support amenities at its core, enabling efficient circulation while integrating nature throughout. Green rooftops, generous daylighting, and landscaped outdoor terraces foster a strong connection to the surrounding environment—forming a vibrant, future-ready urban ecological forest in the heart of Shanghai.
The scheme is expected to open in early 2026.
