I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge to open at Lowry Outlet Watergardens in 2020
In exciting news for those who like to earn their bush tucker the hard way, The Lowry’s Watergardens development at MediaCityUK will host the multi-sensory, adrenaline-inducing I’m A Celebrity… Jungle Challenge from next year.
The 2,500m2 indoor entertainment venue will give fans of ITV’s hit series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here the chance to test their stamina at its famous Base Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock areas, with a 90-minute course which includes parachute drops, climbing walls and zip wires.
Campmates will collect stars as they go, with those who best overcome their fears crowned king or queen of the jungle.
With the retail and leisure sector experiencing a profound transformation at the moment, The Watergardens at MediaCityUK is part of a new generation of leisure and shopping destinations which are putting entertainment at the heart of the experience they offer to visitors. Chapman Taylor is designing the transformation of the original Lowry Outlet for Lifestyle Outlets to ensure the centre’s social and economic success for many years to come.
Chapman Taylor’s design for The Watergardens transforms The Lowry’s southern frontage into a vibrant waterside leisure and dining destination offering new entertainment and F&B space at the heart of MediaCityUK. The new destination will provide an elegant setting for a diverse variety of restaurants, including casual and contemporary dining options, with the design inspired by, and making full use of, the southerly aspect and the best waterside views in Manchester.
The scheme will incorporate biophilic design principles to blend natural planted landscaping with the waterside urban environment, together with a new waterfront connection from Millennium Bridge and the new Metrolink on the southern side of the Ship Canal.
